2024 Copa América LIVE | Latest updates June 21: No goals between Peru & Chile as it ends in a tie – Marca English
June 22, 2024

The Copa America rolls on today. After Argentina and Canada kicked off the tournament on Thursday, Chile and Peru will continue Group A action this Friday afternoon in the day’s only match.
Chile, though they have struggled in recent tournaments, are no strangers to lifting the trophy. La Roja will be looking to begin their campaign in the American tournament on a strong note.
Peru – Chile LIVE updates, Friday June 21st, at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX.
Update narration
A match between the national teams of Peru and Chile in a Copa America is always one of the highlights in South America. In their 84-match history, Chile has claimed 46 victories, while Peru has won 24 times, with 14 matches ending in draws.
This time, the “Pacific Classic,” set for Friday at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, is even more anticipated than their last encounter in the 2016 World Cup qualifiers. In that October 2023 match, Chile triumphed 2-0 over Peru, then coached by the now-dismissed Juan Reynoso.
Despite Peru’s modest recent performance, their fans are optimistic. The team is now under the guidance of Uruguayan coach Jorge Fossati, who has been restoring confidence through friendly matches before the Copa America 2024.
Peru and Chile will debut this Friday at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, marking the second Group A match of the tournament. The group also includes Argentina and Canada, who opened the tournament at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta with a 2-0 victory for Argentina, thanks to goals from Julián Álvarez (min. 49) and Lautaro Martinez (min. 88).
What are today’s Copa America 2024 matches?
